PETRA: when architectural design enters the kitchen

At Arcos, we like to think that every object in a kitchen tells something about the person who lives there.
PETRA, our new knife holder, perfectly embodies that idea: turning a functional item into a design piece capable of elevating any culinary space.

Born from the collaboration with Spanish architects Pedro Ponce and Rubén Gutiérrez (Iterare Arquitectos), PETRA is much more than a simple accessory.
It represents the meeting point between local craftsmanship, noble materials, and an architectural vision that transforms the everyday act of storing knives into a true visual and tactile experience.

Stone and wood: a piece that feels alive

The base of PETRA is crafted from locally sourced natural black marble, shaped by expert stone artisans.
Each piece reveals its own distinctive veins, subtle traces of time that make every stand a one‑of‑a‑kind object.

Resting on this mineral base rises a set of natural oak slats where knives find both order and protection.
Wood, being a living material, displays variations in color and grain that ensure no two PETRAs are ever the same.

A support designed to last

PETRA can hold and protect up to six Arcos knives with a maximum length of 26 cm, making it the perfect ally for those who seek the ideal balance between aesthetics, functionality, and uncompromising quality.

Its handcrafted finish — with textures that only skilled manual work can achieve — gives it a remarkable sense of presence and strength.
It is a piece designed to blend seamlessly into modern kitchens, while naturally standing out in spaces where character takes center stage.

Architectural design at the service of everyday life

Because a piece like this deserves special attention:

  1. Clean it with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
  2. Avoid using abrasive products.
  3. Keep the wood away from prolonged humidity.
  4. Do not put it in the dishwasher.

Simple gestures to preserve an object designed to accompany you for many years.

PETRA doesn’t just organize your knives; it showcases them.

It turns them into part of the everyday display, adding order, texture, and a calm elegance that’s felt even before you start cooking.

A piece for those who value design.
For those who seek quality in every detail.
For those who, like us, believe the kitchen can also be a place of beauty.
